MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC DESIGN EXPERIENCE

 

 

Designed maintenance of traffic plans for the temporary closing of three railroad crossings in St. Johns County Florida.  These plans included detour signing with all signs and barricades in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.

 

A comprehensive set of maintenance of traffic plans were developed for the widening of Park Street in Jacksonville, Florida.  These plans included a major detour an contained work zone traffic control layout for staged culvert construction.

 

The preparation of numerous post-design MOT plans.  These plans, which were prepared at the contractor's request, modified the contract MOT plans so that constructability and value engineering issues were addressed.  Projects include: the widening of SR 21 in Clay County, construction of the JT Butler/Belfort Road interchange in Jacksonville, 20th Street Expressway improvements in Jacksonville, and the 6-laning of I-295 in Duval County. 

 

Completed minor highway design projects under contract to both Districts 2 and 5 of the Florida Department of Transportation.  These projects, of which there were approximately fifteen, included road widenings, resurfacing, turn lane additions, and intersection improvements.  Some of these projects contained an associated set of MOT plans.

 

A complete set of maintenance of traffic plans were developed for the widening of Emerson Street in Jacksonville, Florida. 

 

Maintenance of traffic plans were developed for the widening of Monument Road in Jacksonville, Florida.  This project involved the staged construction of a four lane divided arterial with a wide median to accommodate future 6-laning.

 

A complete set of maintenance of traffic plans were developed for the widening of George King Boulevard in Brevard County, Florida.  Access considerations were of primary concern since George King Boulevard is the principal route used by cruise ship patrons at Port Canaveral.

 

A complete set of staged maintenance of traffic plans were developed for the widening of SR 200 in Marion County, Florida.

Traffic signal design for three intersections along Park Street in Jacksonville, Florida.  This project also involved the design of school zone signing and striping for Hyde Park Elementary School, including the design of mast arm supported overhead school flashers.  In addition, a comprehensive set of staged maintenance of traffic plans were developed.

 

Provided on-site construction inspection services for a new traffic signal in Jacksonville, Florida.  Monitored construction quality, adherence to plans and specifications, and work zone safety. 

 

Participated in eight minor highway design projects located in District II of the Florida Department of Transportation.  These projects included road widenings, bridge approaches, and intersection widenings.  Responsibilities included: participation in plan preparation, coordination of project submittals, plan review to ensure adherence to safety criteria, and review of maintenance of traffic plans.
