PARKING EXPERIENCE

 

 

Downtown Gainesville late-night and weekend on-street parking study.  Buckholz Traffic was retained by the City of Gainesville to determine whether or not on-street weekend parking could be provided along University Avenue and Main Street in Downtown Gainesville.  The envisioned purpose of the parking is to increase the attractiveness of business located in Downtown Gainesville, especially the many restaurants and nightclubs frequented mainly by University of Florida students.  An engineering analysis was conducted and corresponding recommendations made for accommodating on-street parking in a safe and efficient manner.

 

Parking study for Boston's World Trade Center and Fish Pier.  An analysis of future parking demand versus available supply was prepared by 5‑year intervals.  A structured parking facility was recommended to handle expected parking demand increases due to future office expansion.

 

Parking data collection for Lauderdale-By-The-Sea.  A parking turnover and occupancy study was completed along Commercial Boulevard in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Florida

 

Cruise ship parking lot conceptual design.  A conceptual design was completed for a new 300 space parking lot to serve a day cruise ship docked in Jacksonville, Florida.

 

Parking analysis for Merrill Road widening.  An analysis of shopping center parking requirements was conducted as part of an FDOT condemnation case along Merrill Road in Jacksonville, Florida.  The number of parking spaces that would be lost to the widening was identified through this analysis.

 

Parking data collection for an ice skating rink in Coral Springs.  A parking turnover and occupancy study was completed for an existing indoor ice skating rink located in Coral Springs, Florida

 

Design of an access system and internal roadway system for Ohio's newest state park. A linear regression model was developed for forecasting attendance and associated traffic.  Internal park roadways, activity parking areas, and the camper check‑in area were all designed to be visually pleasing and to minimize disruption to the environment.  The camper check-in area included a convenient pull-thru parking system for long-vehicles.

 

Parking analysis for Delray Beach.  A parking turnover and occupancy study was completed for roadways and lots located near the beach-front intersection of SR A1A and Atlantic Boulevard in Delray Beach, Florida.
